Connecting to the Virtual Room
The following is a brief tutorial on connecting to the Spiritus Online Counselling Elluminate Virtual Room. This is a web-based chat room that needs only Java installed to run - no other software.
First go to the participant login URL, which should have been emailed to you by your counsellor. When you click the link in your email, a webpage like the following should load up on your internet browser.

Enter your name as you would like it to appear in the virtual room, and then click the "Join now" button.
A new window will pop up, called "Launching Elluminate Live," that looks like this:

Depending on the security settings of your browser, a security toolbar may appear that says, for example: To help protect your security, Internet Explorer blocked this site from downloading files to your computer. Click here for options.
Click the toolbar and select "Download File." This will download the Java file that runs the vRoom on your computer.
Again, once the file downloads, you may have another security warning that looks like this:

Click on Allow so that the Java program can run on your computer. When it does load up, you will be presented with the Elluminate vRoom, as shown below.

When you join a session for the first time, you will be prompted to agree to the terms of use of the program. Select I agree.
You will then be asked to select the connection speed you are using. If you are unsure, stick with the pre-selected option.
You can change the layout of the screen by selecting View > Layouts to pick the setup that works best for you and your monitor.
Set up your Audio options by selecting Tools > Audio > Audio Setup Wizard
