We employ only counsellors who have successfully completed a four year undergraduate degree (minimum) and can demonstrate a practical experience in the counselling field.
Our Counsellors are psychologists, social workers or members of the Allied Health counselling field.
We employ only Educators who have successfully completed an undergraduate degree (minimum) in the field of education and or adult/education and who can demonstrate at least five years of successful education service delivery.
Many of our educators are also qualified counsellors.
All of our administration staff are fully trained and caring professionals with a minimum of five years experience in the delivery of client-focused services.
As part of our commitment to the community service sector, Spiritus Counselling & Education Services also provides experience for university students and volunteers (counselling and education) and work experience and volunteer work (administration).
All such placements receive ongoing supervision and training and wherever service delivery is provided by a student placement your permission will be sought.
All counsellors and educators within Spiritus Counselling & Education Services receive ongoing monthly professional supervision from a clinical supervisor, both in one-to-one supervision and group supervision environments.
All staff are required to actively participate in ongoing professional training and development which is provided both through monthly in-service training sessions and external training attendance.
All staff within Spiritus Counselling and Education Services are required to attain and maintain a current Working with Children and Young People clearance (Blue Card) and a National Police Check throughout their employment with us.
